Overview

 

The DiscAthlon2 from TEAC is the only automatic printer which automates up to two P-55C printers with dye sublimation technology.

As a result of the fact that it is now possible to operate two thermal re-transfer printers in parallel, the Disc Athlon2 opens up completely new vistas in automatic high speed printer and unbelievable flexibility. The AP-55 can also handle various applications from low-volume production to mass production. Up to four devices with a total of eight printers can be operated on a single PC.

Like all TEAC devices in the DPS series, the Disc Athlon2 features a robust and compact design. The system is fitted with two input and two output trays which makes it possible to operated in mixed mode with a range of media. Even 8 cm media can be used. Printing is possible from any graphics program with four print qualities being available: BW, Versamax, Color CMYK, and Photo.

The end result is a scratch-proof, water-proof printed disc with no color fading. Depending on the application, either the dye-sublimation or thermal fusion disc printing method can be selected from the same system.

In addition to the robot system with a maximum feed capacity of 300, the DiscAthlon2 comprises the following :

 
  • One or two P-55C thermal re-transfer printers with the highest print resolution for CD/DVD and Blue-ray media using the unique dye sublimation or thermal fusion technology.
  • A device control software package.
